HISTORY
1982 - A Modest Beginning
What began as a small legal Practice in Pretoria, founded by Hendrik DuPlessis and Ralph Arthur Monk, was built on a shared belief that law law should be practiced with both precision and purpose. The firm started as a two-person partnership advising families and small businesses in conveyancing and estate matters.
1990 - Growth and Reputation
As word of their diligence and professionalism spread, DuPlessis & Monk expanded its footprint and client base. The firm became known for its meticulous handling of property transfers and its practical, solution-driven advice in commercial transactions.
2005- New Generation, Same Principles
The turn of the millennium saw the firm welcome a new generation of partners who carried forward the founders’ values while embracing modern practices and technology. The firm’s relocation to Rustenburg reflected both its roots in South Africa’s heartland and its vision for broader reach.
2017 - Diversifying Expertise
Responding to an increasingly complex legal and business environment, DuPlessis and Monk broadened its practice areas to include corporate law, notarial services, and litigation. This expansion allowed the firm to serve both established enterprises and emerging entrepreneurs with equal dedication.
